About

My name is Olav Henrik Hoggen. I currently work as a cybersecurity consultant and have previously worked as a security analyst/SOC analyst for two different companies.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from NTNU in 2019, where I completed the IT-Operations and Information Security program, a precursor to the now more elegantly termed Digital Infrastructure and Cybersecurity program.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, the realm of computer security has consistently captured my utmost interest. I distinctly recall my university days, eagerly anticipating courses such as Ethical Hacking, Incident Response, and Digital Forensics.

Now after 3 years of experience as a SOC/Security analyst, I stand in a bit of a crossroads, contemplating the trajectory of my career. While I did find the work exiting, certain practical aspects moderated my enthusiasm. Chief among these was the expectation of 24/7 monitoring for customers, and work tasks easily becoming repetetive.

Presently I am looking to expand my horizons, and continue learning in the world of computer security and possibly adjacent domains. This blog is intended to document this learning.
